PAPPY'S FUN CLUB - * * * * *
Who says comedy is hard work? Judging by the
fun this quartet has, you can't help thinking
they're in their element twenty-four hours a day
at the Fringe. And who can blame them? Their Monty
Python-esque comedy had me laughing so hard I
had to reach for my inhaler. That's right; it
was so good I wheezed. The sketches were perfectly
executed and even when they went off-script they
felt refreshing, taking cues from the greats on
how to get the most laughs from the crowd, building
on the 'no punch-line rule' and stopping a sketch
half-way through, a method sadly hardly used nowadays.
The only problem with this show is trying not
to repeat the sketches to everyone you see.
