Pappy’s Fun Club - Free!
Pappy’s Fun Club/PBH Free Fringe

Good gig, I say - putting on free comedy is great in a money-orientated month such as this and this lot seem to have the spirit of the Fringe at the centre of this show. Elements of the deadpan, the absurd, a touch of Monty Python, and other influences are fused to make the whole morsel. However, despite all this potential, the comedy does leave a little to be desired, with the likes of gags on the subject of homosexuality, Hitlers, and Jesus being an aphrodisiac of sorts. Come on, guys - if you wanted to be really socially critical, there are other things to be talking about, and I couldn’t help noticing how clichéd it all is at times. A fun hour though - if you’re passing, why not pop in?

Laughing Horse @ Cannon’s Gait, 6 - 26 Aug (not 15), 12:00pm (1:00pm), free, fpp 61.
